Local ad revenues will hit $146.3 billion this year, growing to $172.2 billion by 2020. This according to BIA/Kelsey’s U.S. Local Advertising Forecast 2016. It measures localized ad media, both traditional and digital.

Mobile Advertising was the center of the focus on this forecast.  The main opportunities in the future from the pie chat seems to be:

  1. Mobile Search (Specifically Voice based searches)
  2. Mobile Native / Social Ads
  3. Messaging based mobile advertising

These increased forecasts comes at the expense of traditional advertising, where investments are continuing to shift to a mobile first World.
